A microstructural-based approach to model magneto-viscoelastic materials at finite strains

چکیده
Magneto-active polymers (MAPs) consist of a polymeric matrix filled with magnetisable particles. MAPs may change their mechanical properties (i.e., stiffness) and/or deformation upon the application an external magnetic stimulus. Mechanical responses can be understood as combined contributions both and Moreover, response is defined by interaction between particles field. Common approaches to model are based on phenomenological continuum models, which able predict magneto-mechanical behaviour but sometimes failed illustrate specific features underlying physics. To better understand guide design manufacturing processes, this contribution presents novel constitutive originated from microstructural basis. The formulated within finite framework accounts for viscous (rate) dependences coupling. After formulations, calibrated set experimental data. validated wide range data that show its predictability. Such microstructurally-motivated strain will help in designing complex three-dimensional microstructures.

To analyze and evaluate textbooks, researchers have either proposed scales and checklists to be filled by teachers and learners or conducted qualitative investigations of the match between SLA theories and textbook activities. This study, however, employs the microstructural approach of schema theory to scrutinize the reading passages of “Mosaic 1 Reading”. To this end, 17 passages of the textb...
متن کاملAn anisotropic viscoelastic fibre-matrix model at finite strains: Continuum formulation and computational aspects
This paper presents a fully three-dimensional constitutive model for anisotropic viscoelasticity suitable for the macroscopic description of fibre reinforced composites that experience finite strains. An essential feature of the model is that the matrix and the fibres are treated separately allowing then as many bundles of fibres as desired. Moreover, the relaxation and/or creep response is bas...

The article is concerned with a new nonlocal model based on Eringen’s nonlocal elasticity and generalized thermoelasticity. A study is made of the magneto-thermoelastic waves in an isotropic conducting thermoelastic finite rod subjected to moving heat sources permeated by a primary uniform magnetic field and rotating with a uniform angular velocity. The Laplace transform technique with respect ...
متن کاملA NEW APPROACH BASED ON FINITE ELEMENT MODEL UPDATING FOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION
In this study, the finite element model updating was simulated by reducing the stiffness of the members. Due to lack of access to the experimental results, the data obtained from an analytical model were used in the proposed structural damage scenarios. The updating parameters for the studied structures were defined as a reduction coefficient applied to the stiffness of the members. Parameter v...
متن کاملThe effect of temperature on the viscoelastic response of rubbery polymers at finite strains
Constitutive equations are derived for the viscoelastic response of rubbery polymers at finite strains. A polymer is thought of as a network of long chains connected to temporary junctions. At a random time, a chain detaches from a junction, which is treated at transition from its active state to the dangling state. A dangling chain at a random time captures a new junction in the vicinity of it...
